 y 29<br /><br />We had so much fun last year, we're back for more! Old Frie
 nds at Cabin Creek and Racing for Home, Inc. are AGAIN  joining forces for 
 the horses! Come out and enjoy delicious food and drinks at Nove Italian Re
 staurant and help support two organizations working to give our Thoroughbre
 d ex-racehorses a new chapter after their racing days are done. We'll suppo
 rt aftercare with a great dinner, silent auction, and a short program emcee
 d by Mary Eddy, Communications Strategist at the New York Racing Associatio
 n and Old Friends at Cabin Creek volunteer.<br /><br />This year's Thorough
 bred industry honoree is Rick Schosberg, retired trainer and a champion for
  aftercare. A graduate of Cornell University, Rick trained for 35 years wit
 h tremendous success, winning marquee races with horses like Affirmed Succe
 ss and Maria's Mon. Involved in many aspects of the industry, Rick serves a
 s President of Take 2/Take the Lead Thoroughbred Retirement Program and is 
 also the Vice President of the New York Thoroughbred Horseman's Association
  (NYTHA).<br /><br />About Old Friends at Cabin Creek:<br />Old Friends at 
 Cabin Creek, the Bobby Frankel Division, is Saratoga county's only thorough
 bred retirement farm and one of the few that will take thoroughbred stallio
 ns. Our purpose is to provide dignified retirement for all racehorses, both
  known and unknown. Completely staffed by volunteers and run entirely on do
 nations, our goal is to provide a natural, nurturing forever home to retire
 d racehorses, and offer the public an up-close and personal experience with
  our thoroughbred horses. We are open to the public year round with many sp
 ecial events during track season. Old Friends at Cabin Creek is accredited 
 by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.<br /><br />About Racing for Home, I
 nc.:<br />Racing For Home was founded in 2010 by Acacia Courtney Clement an
 d Sherrie Courtney. The mission is to help transition retired racehorses, o
 ne Thoroughbred at a time, for a second career. This includes helping to ne
 twork other Off-Track Thoroughbreds (OTTB’s) and connect them with prospect
 ive homes off the track. Others, we take in to our program to rehabilitate 
 and retrain, all of which get considerable let down time to acclimate to li
 fe off the track. Based in Connecticut, Racing for Home is accredited by th
 e Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and exists because of hard working volunt
