 s presented by the Cornell Equine Hospital and Cornell Cooperative Extensio
 n. Held monthly, equine experts present on important equine health and mana
 gement topics. The event is free and open to the public.<br /><br />This se
 minar will focus on important characteristics of donkeys that are necessary
  for owners and veterinarians to be familiar with so that they can recogniz
 e and manage emergency situations. It will review unique aspects of donkey 
 behavior and important information regarding clinical assessment, restraint
  and sedation. It will also describe some unique characteristics of donkeys
  by body system in relation to disease processes. <br /><br /> <br /><br />
 Dr. Erin Goodrich is a 2008 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine 
 at Cornell, and a 2004 Animal Science graduate of the Cornell College of Ag
 riculture and Life Sciences. She practiced veterinary medicine in two mixed
  animal practices in central New York prior to joining Cornell’s Animal Hea
 lth Diagnostic Center in December of 2013 as a member of the Veterinary Sup
 port Services (VSS) team. She became board-certified by the American Colleg
 e of Veterinary Preventive Medicine in 2017. Now serving as the Director of
  VSS, she works to provide diagnostic support to veterinarians in their dai
 ly encounters with disease outbreaks, control, and surveillance. Through he
 r personal and professional experiences, she has also developed a keen inte
 rest in donkey health and welfare, a subject she has introduced into the ve
 terinary curriculum at Cornell and conferences both here in the US and abro
 ad.
