 ine Hospital and Cornell Cooperative Extension. Held monthly, equine expert
 s present on important equine health and management topics. The event is fr

This seminar will focus on important charac
 teristics of donkeys that are necessary for owners and veterinarians to be 
 familiar with so that they can recognize and manage emergency situations. I
 t will review unique aspects of donkey behavior and important information r
 egarding clinical assessment, restraint and sedation. It will also describe
  some unique characteristics of donkeys by body system in relation to disea
 se processes. \n

Dr. Erin Goodrich is a 2008 graduate of the Coll
 ege of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell, and a 2004 Animal Science graduate o
 f the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She practiced veter
 inary medicine in two mixed animal practices in central New York prior to j
 oining Cornell’s Animal Health Diagnostic Center in December of 2013 as a m
 ember of the Veterinary Support Services (VSS) team. She became board-certi
 fied by the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine in 2017. Now
  serving as the Director of VSS, she works to provide diagnostic support to
  veterinarians in their daily encounters with disease outbreaks, control, a
 nd surveillance. Through her personal and professional experiences, she has
  also developed a keen interest in donkey health and welfare, a subject she
  has introduced into the veterinary curriculum at Cornell and conferences b
 oth here in the US and abroad.
